Everyone know alexa’s traffic rankings system.
It’s actually used by many people to calculate the value of websites or ad spaces they may sell. However, the traffic ranking was generated by how many people with the alexa toolbar were visiting the website. After the increasing demand to add additional ways to meter the visitors and traffic of a website apart the toolbar alexa managed it!
The new alexa ranking system aggregates now data from multiple sources to give you a better indication of website popularity among the entire population of Internet users.
Though there is and some sort of dissapointment between webmasters since lots of rankings have changed and most times to a worse number..but that’s temporarily i think since with the next rank update and more visitors being calculated you’ll have your ranks boosted again!
It’s a great move to implement the alexa system with new features and we are eagerly anticipating to see how the new ranking will be!

worse number?
I am referring to the change of traffic ranks which in most cases went worse(that’s what the word number refers to).
Simple examples? DP went from #390 to #938. Even worse?
v7n.com went from #6500 to #21,616.
And for some reason most of the websites(actually webmaster related websites) i visit have all got bad “numbers”.

Even though I don’t care much about my site’s alexa ranking, I occasionally do check some of the websites I usually visit’s ranks (Just for information purpose) and have noticed the numbers problem. Thank you for your nice post, hope it’s really temporary and will be back to normal soon
